Barter transactions can yield millions of dollars to the bottom line…so some additional work is warranted. There’s due diligence to be done before the deal is signed (mainly confirming the media can be done on trade), but once the transaction is properly structured, the ad agency can oversee the media delivery with minimal extra work. The normal planner-buyer process is unchanged – Sherwood, rather than the ad agency’s internal buyer, provides all the required information and data for the marketing team to evaluate and approve before any media runs.
